Mail Call - March 30

March 30, 2012

“I don’t know if anyone else has noticed, but my insurance company, health insurance, decides my health care these days, not my doctor.”

— Williamsport

“Especially in an election year, you always read a lot of criticism about our elected officials. Well, I’m not totally satisfied with them, but except for a very select few, they’ve always been fair with me, whether I’ve spoken to them personally or someone from their office, their associates. One example is Congressman Bartlett. I have a lot of respect for that man and his staff. He’s helped me several times over the years, my wife and I, with our questions, and I just wonder, these people who are doing most of the criticizing, have they ever even talked to anyone from our elected officials’ offices? I just wonder.”

— Hagerstown

“We’re getting ready to send our absentee votes in. We mail them in, and ... trying to figure out who would be a good senator. I called around a couple places, and I found out the best person to run, I think, for the Republican Party, his name is Dan Bongino. He has a good education. So I thought I’d call in, if somebody else doesn’t, can’t figure who to vote for, this gentleman, from all I’ve found out, is really a good, decent person, honest. So that’s the reason why I’m calling this in.”

“On April 3, the state of Maryland will vote in the primary for presidential nominees. As of Tuesday night, I have now made my decision to vote for Rick Santorum. After hearing his candidate’s speech in Gettysburg, Pa., his honesty on the economy, and freedom, and for the hopes of America, I hope that everyone will understand.”

— Boonsboro

“All right, people, now’s the time to stand up. Election’s coming up. Let’s vote them all out this time, OK? Let’s all start over with all new people. Let’s vote them all out, even ... the one city council member that ... was in that secret meeting. Let’s vote them all out, please. Have nobody to blame but ourselves if we vote them back in, so let’s vote them all out.”

— Hagerstown

“I think if the governor of Maryland and Mr. Young would spend as much time and money dedicated to the gay law, and work on the price of gas going up, and settling this pension thing where they have all this money going out and can’t pay it, for people that’s retired, I think both of them ought to be impeached and thrown out of office. I think they ought to all be replaced. All they want to do is spend money. Anybody can be a government official, if you just like to spend money. You have a problem, throw more money at it. Don’t worry about it, taxpayers will pay it.”
