Morning MoJo report - March 30

March 30, 2012

Here is the Morning MoJo Report for Friday, March 30:

*  A tractor-trailer has run off the roadway on Interstate 70 between the Downsville Pike and Sharpsburg Pike exits and became stuck in the median, Maryland State Police said at 7 a.m.  Due to rush hour traffic, the truck will remain in the median until later this morning, police said.  There were no injuries and the truck is simply stuck, according to police.

* As of 7 a.m., traffic on I-495 in both directions and on I-270 southbound was a little sluggish, but was running fine on all the other interstates throughout the area.

* The MARC Train, Light Rail service, Commuter Buses, local bus services, the Metro Subway system, and the Mobility service are all running on time and operating on their regular schedules, according to the Maryland Transit Administration's website, http://mta.maryland.gov/.

* The weather today is expected to have increasing clouds with a high near 60 degrees, areas of frost before 8 a.m., and winds between between 6 and 9 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight it is expected to be cloudy with a chance of showers, a low of around 48 degrees, a 40 percent chance of precipitation, and winds between 9 and 13 mph.

* The Longmeadow Road-Marsh Pike intersection is still undergoing an improvement project. Workers are assisting traffic when needed at the intersection.

* Only one lane of Md. 550 in Thurmont, Md., is open between Eylers Valley Flint Road and Kelbaugh Road due to a mudslide that occurred last April. However, it could reopen by June.
