Hagerstown man accused of pulling a gun on ex-girlfriend remains in jail

A Hagerstown man accused of pulling a gun on his ex-girlfriend and another man on Friday was being still held Tuesday on $350,000 bond, according to Washington County District Court records.

Marcel Joseph Guerin, 32, of 945 View St. is charged with two counts each of first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, and one count of using a firearm in a crime of violence, the court records said.

Hagerstown police went to a home in the 100 block of East Baltimore Street shortly before 7 p.m. Friday to respond to a report of a man with a handgun, according to the statement of probable cause filed by police.

Peggy Crawford told police she asked a friend to call Guerin to “ask him to get his cat,” the charging documents said.

Guerin told them he would come get the cat, but he arrived intoxicated and began yelling, the documents said.

During the incident, Guerin allegedly pulled a handgun on Crawford and current boyfriend, Joshua White, and said that he “was going to blow their heads off,” court records said.

White ran around the side of the house with Guerin in pursuit, the documents said.

Guerin then walked off on South Locust Street. Several witnesses on the street told police they saw Guerin with the gun, and police found a holster in front of the East Baltimore Street house, the documents said.

The Hagerstown Street Crimes Unit took Guerin into custody at his home at about 9 p.m., court records said.
