Mail Call - March 27

March 26, 2012

“With all the rigamarole over the stadium, I thought it would be a change of pace to hear something nice about an athletic program; the Maryland Terrapins basketball, to be exact. The response I received from a simple email to Coach Turgeon was incredible. My daughter is now in possession of an autographed photo of her favorite player. The personnel in the coach’s office are an absolute pleasure. They certainly didn’t have to go out of their way for an 11-year-old, but they did. Kudos to Brittany and Coach Turgeon.”

“The Democratic-led Senate in the state of Maryland just voted to raise our income tax in Maryland, and we know our great governor wants to raise the sales tax on gas. And how many of us — I know most of you in Washington County probably votes Republican, but I know there’s a few out there who voted for him. How can you defend a man who is trying to do that to us, with the price of gas right now?”

“I’m calling about Bill Maher. They say he is a comedian. I think otherwise of him, after his comments, his name-calling of Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann, and Christians. And then on top of that, he comes and trashes Santorum and his family. That’s OK, you go ahead and give your million dollars to President Obama, Bill Maher.”

“This is in reference to the closing of the urgent care center on Antietam Street, across from the old Washington County Hospital. If it’s a matter of funds, then it would be much better if you would close the one out at Robinwood, being that the new hospital is there right now. It is very important to have this urgent care center in the downtown area, because of the people who don’t have any transportation, and that don’t want to clog up the hospital.”

“The commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. James Amos, has declared a Marine is a Marine, whether he is on active duty, retired, or deceased. Semper Fidelis to all Marines in the Hagerstown area, and everywhere.”

“I want to congratulate Leonard Pitts for writing the article he did in the 15 Herald-Mail. It’s about time that he actually writes something that makes some sense.”
— Hagerstown

“What’s the State of Maryland going to tax next? Do they want all of our money?”
