Man charged with pulling gun during dispute

March 26, 2012

A Hagerstown man accused of pulling a gun on his ex-girlfriend and another man on Friday was being held Monday on $350,000 bond, according to Washington County District Court records.

Marcel Joseph Guerin, 32, of 945 View St., is charged with two counts each of first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, and one count of using a firearm in a crime of violence, court records show.

Hagerstown Police went to a home in the 100 block of East Baltimore Street shortly before 7 p.m. Friday for a report of a man with a handgun, according to the statement of probable cause filed by Hagerstown Police.

Peggy Crawford told police she asked a friend to call Guerin to “ask him to get his cat,” the charging document said. Guerin told them he would come get the cat, but he arrived intoxicated and began yelling, the document said.

During the incident, Guerin allegedly pulled a handgun on Crawford and current boyfriend Joshua White, and said that he “was going to blow their heads off,” court records show.

White ran around the side of the house with Guerin in pursuit, the charging document said. Guerin then walked off on South Locust Street, the document said.

Several witnesses on the street saw Guerin with the gun and police found a holster in front of the East Baltimore Street house, the charging document said.

The Hagerstown Street Crimes Unit took Guerin into custody at his home at about 9 p.m., court records show.
