POTOMAC, Md. — The Heights School hit St. Maria Goretti with a 10-run first inning and went on for the win.
Casey Bartholomew and Taylor Litzinger had two hits each for Goretti (3-4) and Bartholomew drove in four runs.

COLLEGE GOLF
Hagerstown Community College won its first golf meet in 10 years among Maryland JuCo schools at Chartwell Country Club.
The Hawks had a team total of 338 strokes, led by Zach Weber and Dave Daubach, each shooting 81. Jason Long had an 87 and Matt Snowden shot 89.
Potomac State shot a team total of 309 but is not a Md. JuCo member and is a 4-year school.

COLLEGE SOFTBALL
Shepherd sweeps pair
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. —  Shepherd University swept past Davis & Elkins 9-0 and 10-2 to improve to 15-12.
Tricia Bettura tossed a 1-hitter in the first game and Jefferson graduate Tiffany Biggs went five innings in the second game to improve her record to 7-3.
