Rochester, Pa. woman injured in Friday night crash on I-70 near Warfordsburg

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. — A Rochester, Pa., woman was injured in a Friday night crash on Interstate 70 west of Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.Maureen Hiltz, 52, was taken to Conemaugh Hospital in Johnstown, Pa., with moderate injuries after the 9:23 p.m. crash, troopers said. She was not listed as a patient there Saturday night, a hospital spokeswoman said.Hiltz was driving east on I-70 in a Pontiac Grand Prix when she lost control of the car while negotiating a curve to the right near mile 166, troopers said. Hiltz drove through the median, damaging the front end of the car, then the vehicle went airborne, overturned, landed on four wheels, and struck the guardrail in the westbound lane of I-70, damaging the left side of the car, troopers said. The car came to rest facing east on the westbound shoulder of I-70, troopers said.The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Needmore (Pa.) Emergency Medical Services, Needmore Fire Department, and Fisher’s Towing assisted at the scene, troopers said.
