Marie J. Collis, 82, of Hagerstown, Md., died Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at her residence.
Born on Aug. 27, 1929, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Elzie D. and Ada J. Martin Shackleford.
She was a member of the West End Baptist Chapel in Hagerstown.
She is survived by a son, Floyd A. Collis Jr., of Crystal Springs, Pa.; three daughters, Dottie Virts of Kearneysville and Brenda Statler and Peggy Snyder, both of Hagerstown; six granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Shackleford, of Baltimore.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd A. Collis Sr.; a daughter, Linda Collis; three brothers, Frank, Carl and John Shackleford; and four sisters, Dorothy Kranenburg, Eva Parker, Shirley Penwell and Alice Pierce.
