Easter egg hunt planned Saturday

Welty Church of the Brethren, 13465 Greensburg Road, invites those ages 12 and younger to its Easter party and egg hunt Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.

There will be games, crafts, story time, snacks and hunting for 400 Easter eggs.

The event is free and will be held rain or shine.

Ballroom dancing Friday at Legion post

Clare Domer’s ballroom dance party will be held Friday from 7 to 10 p.m. in the main ballroom at Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion on Northern Avenue in Hagerstown.

Admission costs $5 per person.



Valley Art Association to host guest artist

Valley Art Association will hold its regular meeting Wednesday, March 28, at 7 p.m. at the Mansion House Art Center in Hagerstown City Park.

After the business meeting and refreshments, artist Michael Timothy Davis will give a  demonstration of his oil paintings.

The public is invited.

The Mansion House is at 501 Highland Way in Hagerstown.

TOPS 0462

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 0462 in Smithsburg had a no-gain weigh-in this past week. It was the second of the month for the chapter.

John and Mary were the thinner winners for the week, each losing 2.25 pounds. Sallie was back on track with a loss of 3/4 pounds

The chapter held election for new officers. John was elected leader, Dale was elected co-leader, Mary was elected secretary and Sallie was elected treasurer. Mack was appointed as weight recorder, and Susan was appointed assistant weight recorder.

The chapter meets Thursdays at St. Paul United Methodist Church. 51 Main St. in Smithsburg. Weigh-in starts at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting begins at 6 p.m.
