WAYNESBORO, Pa. — TE Connectivity, formerly Tyco Electronics, has laid off 30 people at its North Grant Street plant.
“The plant had about 300 employees prior to the reduction,” company spokesman Mike Ratcliff said.
The affected plant does application tooling for other TE Connectivity facilities and products.
Ratcliff said the work-force reduction was made because of diminished demand.
TE Connectivity enlarged Waynesboro’s plant a few years ago when it closed one in Virginia and transferred the work there.
