Autism awareness workshop planned

Providing Relief for Autistic Youth Inc., in partnership with Hagerstown Community College, will hold an autism awareness training program Thursday, April 19.

There will be two sessions offered. The morning session is geared toward autism awareness risk and safety management training for law enforcement, first providers and criminal justice professionals. Registration for this session is from 8:30 to 9 a.m. and the session runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The evening session is also concerning autism awareness risk and safety management training; however, this session is targeting parents, care providers, educators and autism professionals.

The evening session registration is from 5:30 to 6 p.m. with the class running from 6 to 9 p.m. Both sessions will be held in the Career Programs Building at HCC.

Easter egg hunt

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Funkstown invites those ages of 2 to 12 to come to Pavilion Four in the park and take part in an Easter egg hunt Saturday, April 7, at 11 a.m. Bring a basket for gathering eggs. A light lunch will be offered at no cost.
