Souper Tuesdays continue March 27

March 20, 2012

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. — SouperTuesdays continue March 27 when the Bolivar Community Center is once again transformed into a SouperNatural Kitchen and a classroom.

Shepherdstown, W.Va., chef Liz Gallery will prepare Sunny Crest Pastures chicken and gluten-free dumplings for a spin on a classic favorite. Dr. Alissa Harris will teach a 45-minute class on "Good Fats/Bad Fats: What fats are good or essential for health," and what "fats" could be hurting your body. Good fats help reduce inflammation, improve brain function, balance hormones and strengthen bones.

The SouperNatural Kitchen uses the money raised from the SouperTuesday dinners to buy fresh, local, whole food for families and individuals in the Bolivar community who need assistance.

Only 30 tickets will be sold. The class is at 6 p.m.; dinner begins at 6:45 p.m. The dinner is at Bolivar Community Center, 60 Panama St., Harpers Ferry, W.Va. Tickets cost $15, and are available via PayPal at www.facebook.com/soupernaturalkitchen, @SouperKitchen on Twitter. They can also be purchased at Dish Restaurant in Charles Town, W.Va., Grapes and Grains and Mellow Moods in Shepherdstown, and Canal House in Harpers Ferry, and Harpers Ferry Chiropractic, 1441 Washington St.
