MERCERSBURG, Pa. — Tim Crouch has been named the new boys basketball coach at Mercersburg Academy, replacing Mark Cubit.

Crouch is a native of Pittsburgh and was a three-year starter in basketball at Dickinson (Pa.) College following high school at North Allegheny.

“I could not be more excited and honored to have the opportunity to coach and guide these young men as well as uphold the rich tradition of Mercersburg athletics and its basketball program,” said Crouch.

Crouch came to Mercersburg in 2009 and has been an assistant under Cubit since.

“We’re excited about this step in our boys basketball program,” said Mercersburg athletic director Rick Hendrickson. “Tim is young and energetic, and he displays a thorough knowledge of not only how to play the game, but the other facets involved in guiding a program.”

Cubit coached the Blue Storm for 13 seasons and will move on to other responsibilities within the Mercersburg Academy physical education and athletic departments.
