Diane Marie Statler, 79, of Williamsport, Md., passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012, at her home with her family present.

Born July 31, 1932, in Hagerstown, to the late John Howell and Mary Catherine Swope Hetzer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth N. Statler, in 1993.

She was a 1950 graduate of Williamsport High School.

She was employed by Mack Trucks Inc. of Hagerstown, Md., until her retirement and previously was employed by Fairchild Aircraft, Hagerstown.

She was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church.

She traveled with the Mack Golden Bulldogs.

She was a member of Local UAW 171 Hagerstown, Williamsport Country Club and a life member of Potomac Post 202 American Legion Auxiliary Williamsport.

In her early life, she was involved in competitive horseback riding and a was member of the Williamsport High School girls state championship basketball Team.

She had a lifelong passion for shopping, traveling and entertaining. For many years, she traveled to Florida in the winter. Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by her family and her many friends.

Survivors include daughters, Cindy S. Everly of Williamsport, and Carolyn D. Forsythe and her husband, Jeffrey, of Hagerstown; son, John W. Sprinkle and his wife, Kitsy, of Falling Waters, W.Va.; brother, John B. Hetzer and his wife, Catherine, of Williamsport; grandchildren, Allison Everly, John McBee, Samuel Spigler III, Tyler Spigler, John Joshua Sprinkle, Luke Sprinkle and Tori Thomas; cousin, Bill Hetzer and his wife, Maggie; nieces, Melissa Hetzer and Linda Lanehart; and nephew, John Jeffrey Hetzer.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Susan Sprinkle, and her partner of 15 years, Ron Keller.

Burial will be private, and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
