Imogene R. “Jean” McBeth Ulery, 82, of Falling Waters, W.Va., formerly of Acme, Pa., died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Williamsport Nursing Home.
She was born April 1, 1929, in Tarrs, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Beistel McBeth.
She was a graduate of East Huntingdon Township High School, Class of 1947. Mrs. Ulery was a retired hairdresser, having retired from Charlene’s Hair Gallery in Hagerstown, Md.
She was a member of the Acme United Methodist Church for more than 50 years.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Clair R. Ulery; one son, L. Reed Ulery and his wife, Julie, of Falling Waters, W.Va.; three stepgrandchildren, Erica Bakner, Amberly Blair and Andrea Divelbiss; three great-grandchildren, Savannah Grace Bakner, Owen Paul Blair and Briella Joy Bakner; two sisters, Marjorie Brown and her husband, Fred, of Prittstown and Thelma Ritenour of Acme; two brothers, Charles McBeth of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Harry Bowser and his wife, Karon, of Alverton R.D. No. 1; and a stepbrother, Leon Mowry and his wife, Charlotte, of Acme; and a sister-in-law, Joan Neff and her husband, Ed, of Mount Pleasant.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her stepmother, Mildred Mowry McBeth; one brother, George McBeth; one sister, Alice Zwierzelewski; two stepbrothers, Harold and Gerald Mowry; and a stepsister, Nancy Zebley.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 406 E. Washington St., Mount Pleasant, Pa. Additional viewing will take place Thursday in Center Bethel Church of God, Alverton, Pa., from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of funeral services with the Rev. D. Keith Solomon officiating. Interment will follow in Alverton Cemetery.
