HCC’s Flores, Pinkcett earn conference honors

Hagerstown Community College sophomore guard Alessandra Flores was named to the All-Maryland JuCo Conference first team, while teammate Yolanda Pinkcett, a sophomore forward, was a second-team selection.

South Hagerstown graduate Alexandra Silva, a sophomore guard at Montgomery-Rockville, also was on the first team.


Shepherd 23, Newberry 7

NEWBERRY, S.C. — Nicole Ruane had 11 goals and Krista Trippett added five goals as Shepherd improved to 6-0 with the victory over Newberry (1-3).


Winston-Salem State 5-3, Shepherd 4-17

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — After falling in a 10-inning game in the opener, Shepherd used a 17-hit attack to rout Winston-Salem State in five innings in the nightcap for a doubleheader split.

Delaney Bell hit a two-run homer and Sam McQuade and Tayler Schaefer each had a two-run double in the outburst for the Rams (10-8).
