1. United in music

2. Spring has arrived early

HCC Alumni Association's Flower & Garden Show will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at Hagerstown Community College's Athletic, Recreation and Community Center off Robinwood Drive, east of Hagerstown. This year's theme is "Brown to Green: The Promise of Spring." $4; free for those younger than 12. Proceeds benefit the HCC Alumni Association. 3.Building a great  performance

Maryland Symphony Orchestra's Masterworks 4 concert, "Sacred Structures," will feature special guest Joseph McIntyre, timpani, on Michael Daugherty's "Raise the Roof." The program also includes Rimsky-Korsakov's "Russian Easter Overture," and more.  Concerts are 8 p.m. Saturday, March 17, and 3 p.m. Sunday, March 18. The Maryland Theatre, 21 S. 4. Dinner for kids

A spaghetti dinner will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 16, at District Ruritan 12, corner of Manor and Breathedsville roads, Fairplay. Cost $6 ages 12 and older, $4 for ages 4 to 11, and free for ages under 4. Menu is spaghetti, garlic bread, salad and drink. Desserts available for donations. Dinner to support Washington County Show Kids.

5. Rock on and on

Performathon 2012  will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at Wilson College's Thomson Hall, 1015 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. Performathon is a marathon of musical performances featuring eight hours of continuous music by hundreds of Cumberland Valley School of Music students of all ages and abilities, as well as faculty members. A second site at Allen Auditorium in Warfield Hall will feature drummers, guitarists and rock ensembles from 1 to 3 p.m. Free. Call 717-261-1220 or go to www.cvsmusic.org.
