Travelogue series continues Wednesday

The Kiwanis Club of Hagerstown will present its fifth program of the travelogue series Wednesday with a presentation of “The Great Canadian Train Ride.”

The program, at South Hagerstown High School auditorium, begins at 7:30 p.m.

The presenter will be Doug Jones, who will include highlights about Toronto, Winnipeg, Lake Louise, Vancouver and Victoria.

Single-admission tickets are sold at the door on show nights. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students. Proceeds help the Kiwanis Club support charities throughout Washington County.

College and career night set for Thursday

On Thursday at South Hagerstown High School, Washington County Public Schools will provide its first districtwide college and career planning night titled “The Future Starts Now: College and Career Planning for K-12 Families.”

Doors will open at 6 p.m. The last session will end at 8:45 p.m.

The event will include information sessions on college planning, career cluster conversations with community members, computer exploration of college and career resources, and a panel discussion with parents of college students.

Children’s Village 5K

The Children’s Village 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run will be Saturday, June 23.

The event will be held rain or shine.

Registration costs $20 for adults and $15 for students before June 15. After June 15, it will cost $25 for adults and $15 for students.

All proceeds support the fire and public safety programs at Children’s Village of Washington County.

Lions Club

Tuesday — Local attorney Michael G. Day will talk about elder law and asset protection.

Lion Mickey Propst reports the most recent eyeglass collection totaled 76 pairs of eyeglasses and 24 cases.

Lion Michelle Horst thanks all Lions who donated to her effort in the Relay for Life, to be held April 13. She looks forward to keeping the club updated on her progress.

SHHS Class of 1967 planning 45th reunion

The South Hagerstown High School Class of 1967 will hold its 45th class reunion Saturday, July 14, at Elks Lodge 378 on Robinwood Drive.

Dinner will be served and music will be by Soup.

Dramatic presentation planned at church

“His Story” will be performed at Virginia Avenue Church of God, 17306 Virginia Ave., Friday, March 23, and Saturday, March 24, and Friday, March 30, Saturday, March 31, and Sunday, April 1. All presentations begin at 7 p.m. 

Doors will open at 6 p.m.

A nursery will be provided and a free-will offering will be accepted.
