CASCADE, Md. — One Mountain Foundation has established a scholarship program for students in the Cascade and Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., areas and the surrounding communities.
This year, the goal is to award four $1,000 scholarships, one each to a senior from Smithsburg, Catoctin, Waynesboro and Fairfield high schools.
The applicant’s area of study or planned school program must result in a degree or in a professional certification. Completed applications must be postmarked no later than April 1 and received no later than April 10. Applications, criteria and procedures can be found at www.onemountainfoundation.org.
Proceeds from foundation events and donations from the public and foundation members and sponsors provide the funding for the scholarships.
Upcoming events include the second annual spaghetti dinner, auction and dance at the Cascade American Legion on March 10, and the fifth annual foundation spring dinner theater at the Blue Ridge Summit (Pa.) Fire and Rescue Squad Hall on April 13 and 14.
