Police briefs - March 8

  • Two vehicles collided Wednesday afternoon on East Oak Ridge Drive near the Sheetz store, according to a Washington County 911 spokesman. One person was taken to Meritus Medical Center for evaluation following the 3:54 p.m. crash, which occurred near the intersection with South Potomac Street, the spokesman said. Additional details were not available Wednesday night.

Hagerstown Police respond to incidents

The Hagerstown Police Department responded to the following incidents, according to spokeswoman Barbara Pickett:

Feb. 28:

  • A domestic violence assault was reported in the 100 block of Summer Street. An arrest was made.
  • Three bicycles were reported stolen in the 1100 block of Oak Hill Avenue.
  • A student was reported out of control at Western Heights Middle School. An arrest was made.
  • A disorderly conduct incident was reported at Antietam Academy. An arrest was made.
  • A domestic violence referral was made in the 600 block of Salem Avenue.
  • A theft was reported at Gold’s Gym on Northern Avenue.

 Feb. 27:

  • A disorderly conduct and assault incident was reported at Side Pockets at 8087 South Potomac St.
  • A domestic violence assault was reported in the 400 block of Guilford Avenue.
  • A theft of a prescription pad was reported at 324 E. Antietam St. There are various medical offices at the address.
  • A computer was reported stolen at Aarons Sales on Maryland Avenue.

  • A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 300 block of Garlinger Avenue.
  • A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 500 block of Guilford Avenue.
  • A domestic violence assault was reported in the 12900 block of Little Elliot Drive. An arrest was made.
  • A domestic violence assault was reported in the 100 block of East Franklin Street. An arrest was made.

 Feb. 25:

  • A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 600 block of Adams Avenue.
  • Prescription fraud was reported at the CVS pharmacy at 34 N. Cannon Ave.

 Feb. 23:

  • A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 200 block of Summer Street.
  • A red Eton Boomer scooter was reported stolen in the 1000 block of Maryland Avenue.
  • A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 40 block of Elgin Boulevard.

 Feb. 21:

  • A theft of wire was reported at the Shenandoah Communication Tower at 1402 Marshall Street.

Franklin County Emergency Services report

The following incidents were reported Wednesday by Franklin County (Pa.) Emergency Services:

  • At 7:53 a.m., a pedestrian accident was reported at East McKinley Street and Stouffer Avenue.
  • At 8:36 a.m., a brush fire was reported in the 12300 block of Grant Shook Road in Antrim Township.
  • At 11:29 a.m., a traffic accident was reported in the 900 block of Norland Avenue in Chambersburg.
  • At 2:11 p.m., logging equipment was reported on fire in the 12300 block of Grant Shook Road in Antrim Township.
  •  At 3:36 p.m., a traffic accident was reported in the 700 block of Lincoln Way East in Chambersburg.
  • At 4:07 p.m., a traffic accident was reported in the 1900 block of Philadelphia Avenue in Greene Township.

Mercersburg police getting complaints about man entering homes

MERCERSBURG, Pa. — Mercersburg police said they have received several complaints from citizens about someone entering their homes and leaving if confronted.

“The only description provided has been that of a black male, thin build, approximately 18 years old,” police said in a news release.

People who see or hear suspicious activity should call 911 immediately, police said.

Police said people should lock their homes and vehicles at all times.
