Daniel Harvey “Dan” Davis, 78, of Williamsport, Md., passed away Monday, March 5, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown, Md.
Born Feb. 23, 1934, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Roy Elmer and Zola Frances Bitner Davis.
He was a 1952 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
He was employed as a manager by C&P Telephone Co. of Maryland for 35 years until retiring in 1991.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War.
He was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Hagerstown BPOE Lodge 378, Williamsport Lions Club, Potomac Fish & Game Club, Telephone Pioneers, Happy Face Travel Club, Big Brothers of Washington County, Dixon-Troxell American Legion Post 211 of Funkstown, Md., Funkstown Rod & Gun Club of Williamsport, and F.O.P. of Hagerstown, and he volunteered at Washington County Hospital for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Doris Louise Batt Davis of Williamsport; daughter, Tina Louise Davis Willett and her husband, Keith, of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; daughter, Melissa Ann Davis Warren and her husband, Jeffrey, of Fairplay, Md.; granddaughter, Anne Louise Singer of Mount Pleasant; granddaughter, Maria Danielle Singer of Mount Pleasant; granddaughter, Elizabeth Louise Warren of Fairplay; granddaughter, Catherine Danielle Warren of Fairplay; sister, Freda Nunamaker of Hagerstown; sister, June Andrews of Hagerstown; sister, Mary Jane Malott of Williamsport; brother, Carl Davis of Dawsonville, Ga.; and brother, Roy Davis of Hagerstown.
