A Toyota Echo heading northbound on Leitersburg Pike overturned in the 19700 block between Longmeadow Road and Marsh Pike on Tuesday morning, Trooper David Matthews of the Maryland State Police said.
The driver of the car swerved off the road and steered too hard the other way to correct it. The vehicle overturned, crossed the road and landed off the southbound side, Matthews said.
The driver and a child between one and two years old were the only two people in the car, and neither was injured, Matthews said.
As of shortly after 8 a.m., the car was still overturned off the road.
Traffic was moving slowly initially, as a firetruck from the Longmeadow Volunteer Fire Co. was on the scene, but it left by 8 a.m.
Police responded to the accident at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.
