March 06, 2012

A Williamsport woman who was critically injured in a single-car crash on Sharpsburg Pike on Feb. 28 was discharged Tuesday from the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, according to a hospital spokesman.

Kelsey Michele Gray, 21, had been in a critical condition at one point, hospital officials said.

Robert Clay Sanderson, 31, of Charlotte, N.C., was driving a 2007 Ford Focus south on Sharpsburg Pike, which is Md. 65, at around 3:20 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a turn, according to Maryland State Police.

The vehicle left the roadway, overturned and came to rest in a field north of Lappans Road, which is Md. 68.
Sanderson was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said they believe speed was a factor in the crash.
