Incidents reported to Washington County Sheriff's Office

The following incidents were reported Friday, Saturday and Sunday to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office:

Friday

  • At 9:19 a.m., an outside camera was reported damaged at Clear Spring High School on Broadfording Road.
  • At 10:30 a.m., cash was reported stolen from Claire’s at The Valley Mall.

Saturday

  • At 2:23 p.m., a Kawasaki four-wheeler with a snow plow attachment was reported stolen from a garage in the 16100 block of River Bend Court, Williamsport.
  • At 4:45 p.m., two windows were reported damaged from whiskey bottles being thrown through them in the 14600 block of Mercersburg Road, Clear Spring.

Sunday

  • At 8:07 a.m., a hood emblem was reported stolen from a 1990 Jaguar at the Sleep & Inn Suites in the 12400 block of Houck Avenue, Clear Spring.
  • At 3:48 p.m., chairs were reported stolen from China 888 on Milestone Terrace, Williamsport, but were later recovered.
  • At 6:52 p.m., a 2008 Pontiac was reported scratched with a key in the 300 block of North Colonial Drive.

Possible sheep poisoning reported in Fulton County

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police were investigating a possible animal poisoning case in Fulton County.

A Brush Creek Township man reported that he believed one of his sheep had been intentionally poisoned, police said. The incident happened between Feb. 24 and Friday, police said.

Arrest made in metal theft

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania State Police made an arrest in a scrap metal theft case.

A washer, dryer and radiator pieces worth $87.11 were stolen from 1042 Avon Drive, northwest of Shippensburg, between Jan. 29 and Feb. 5, and sold to a salvage yard, according to a news release from state police.

Craig Walker, of Shippensburg, was charged with receiving stolen property, state police said.


Vehicles collide on Pa. bridge

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — No injuries were reported after two vehicles collided head-on Thursday on a one-lane bridge on Social Island Road southwest of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Andrea L. Grenke, 44, of Greencastle, Pa., was driving a 2011 Ford Escape east on Social Island Road around 8:20 a.m. Thursday as Brian R. Stouffer, 39, of Chambersburg, was driving a 1999 Mercedes-Benz CLK430 west on Social Island Road, according to a news release from state police.

The Mercedes-Benz was crossing the one-lane bridge westbound, cresting the bridge and heading downhill when the Ford sport utility vehicle, which failed to stop for oncoming traffic, entered the bridge eastbound, state police said.

Grenke was cited with failure to obey a traffic-control device, state police said.


Man hit at weigh station

GREENCASTLE, Pa. — A New Jersey man who was trying to close the weigh station gate off Interstate 81 northeast of Greencastle on Thursday was moderately injured when a vehicle hit the gate and drove through the weigh station, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Corey D. Russo, 25, of Union, N.J., was trying to close the station gate at about 6 p.m. Thursday when what is believed to have been a commercial vehicle exited I-81 into the weigh station and hit the gate, causing the gate to detach and injure Russo, according to a news release from state police.

The unknown vehicle continued north through the weigh station and headed north on I-81, state police said.

No further information was provided.
