Anti-bullying assembly held in Sharpsburg

March 04, 2012

On Feb. 15, an anti-bullying assembly was held at Sharpsburg Elementary School.

The presenters were Paul Hadfield, a counselor, comedian and circus artist, who teamed with Barry Wood, a slapstick sidekick and aspiring Hollywood film director.

The program’s goal was to help give students the skills and knowledge to stop bullying at school.

Hadfield brought his experience in counseling children and the latest bullying research.

He said he’s not afraid to use magic, acrobatics and juggling to make a point.

Wood led the students in role-play situations to teach and illustrate bystander skills.

Together, they formed a comedy team with the ability to make a serious subject engaging and fun.
