Miss Judith Blane Beachley, 72, a lifetime resident of Brownsville, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at Northampton Manor Nursing Home in Frederick, Md.

Judy was born June 30, 1939, in Frederick, a daughter of the late George Dewey and Zillah Markoe Beachley.
Judy was a homemaker who loved to work in her flower gardens and care for her cats.

She was a dedicated member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Brownsville.

Judy was one of 11 children, and is survived by her brother, Carl Beachley and wife, Mary; and sisters, Candiz Notnagle, Beverly Shaff and husband, Bill, and Mary Lee Stitely, all of Frederick; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, William, George, Markoe and Daniel Beachley; and two sisters, Mary Lou Beachley and Sharon Howie.

Judy also will be remembered by her extended family, her neighbors, Charles and Sandy Markle, her Christian brothers and sisters of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, and good friend, Barbara Anders.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown, Md. Funeral services will be at noon Friday, March 2, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 2150 Boteler Road, Brownsville. There also will be a viewing one hour before the church service Friday. The Rev. Charles Holder will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
