On Friday, Read Across America Day will take place at Boonsboro Library. 

Dr. Seuss books will be available to read to children.

Winter yard sale

St. James Church of the Brethren, 17718 Lappans Road, will hold its annual indoor winter yard sale Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be available, and lots of bargains will be available.

Oyster dinner

Benevola United Methodist Church will hold an oyster dinner Saturday, beginning at noon. 

Tickets cost $15 for adults and $7 for those ages 10 and younger.

The church is at 19925 Benevola Church Road.

Bingo for kids

On Sunday, First Hose Co. of Boonsboro will host kids bingo.

Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and games begin at 2 p.m. 

Tickets cost $15 for 15 games. Tickets cost $10 before Wednesday. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

Teens invited to Geek Out

Teens are invited to Geek Out at Your Library Tuesday, March 6, beginning at 5 p.m. at Boonsboro Library.

Celebrate American Library Association’s Teen Tech Week by sharing favorite websites and learning how to create a glog.

War of 1812

Local historian Roger Keller will present “Maryland and the War of 1812” at Boonsboro Library Friday, March 9, at 6 p.m.

“The War of 1812 Traveling Exhibit” will be on display from March 5 to 29.

Reunion meeting

The next BHS Class of 1977 reunion meeting is slated for Sunday, March 11, at 5 p.m. at the home of Sherry Reeder Bingaman on Appletown Road. 

The class is planning for its 35th reunion, which will be Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Elks Lodge in Hagerstown.

Relay for Life

Only 100 days left until the new Relay For Life of Southern Washington County takes place at Washington County Agricultural Education Center on June 22 and 23.

The next team rally will be Wednesday, March 21, at 6:30 p.m. at Mount. Nebo United Methodist Church, 134 S. Main St. in Boonsboro.

Pancake breakfast

The Boonsboro Lions will sponsor an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast Saturday, March 31, from 7 to 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 64 S. Main St.

The menu includes pancakes, sausage, eggs cooked to order, sausage gravy, orange juice and coffee.

Donations will be accepted at the door. All proceeds benefit the Boonsboro community.

Community yard sale

The student council of Boonsboro High School will host a community yard sale Saturday, May 12, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot of the high school. 

The cost of a table is $15, with additional tables at $5 each.
