Mason and Dixon Kennel Club to host dog show at ag center

The Mason and Dixon Kennel Club will hold an American Kennel Club Sanctioned B Conformation All Breed Match Saturday at Washington County Agricultural Education Center, off Sharpsburg Pike. 

The event will be held rain or shine.

Entries will be accepted between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.

The entry fee costs $10 per dog. There is no fee for junior showmanship.

Judging begins at 11:30 a.m. with junior showmanship. The all-breed judging begins at noon. 

There will be a free introduction to conformation (show) handling class for juniors and adults by instructors Vic Guilmano and Nancy Plunkett from 10 to 11 a.m.

Judging will be as follows: puppy classes for dogs 3 to 6 months; 6 to 9 months; and 9 to 12 months. Adult classes will be for dogs 12 to 18 months and open class. 

Judges will be Al Ferruggiaro, JoAnne Buehler, Cindy Partridge, Ron Webb, Jerry Howse, Chad Howard, Carrie Chase and Vicki Creamer. All AKC rules apply. 

The Mason and Dixon Kennel Club will not be responsible for accidents and can make judge changes at any time.

Food will be available at the site from the Downsville General Store. There will be a limited number of select vendors for the occasion. All in attendance are reminded to clean up after their dogs.

The Mason and Dixon Kennel Club is an AKC-affiliated all breed kennel club dedicated to the sport of purebred dogs.

Directions to the ag center: Take Interstate 70 (east or west) to exit 29. Go south on Md. 65 (Sharpsburg Pike) toward Sharpsburg. Travel approximately six miles. The ag center is on the left. Follow the road back to the complex’s dog building.
