Consultant to present downtown parking study data

February 22, 2012

Preliminary data from a downtown parking study will be presented during a public meeting Thursday night at 7 p.m. in the Hagerstown City Council chambers on the second floor of City Hall at 1 E. Franklin St.

Representatives from Rich & Associates, the Michigan-based consulting firm the city hired to develop the parking study of the City Center area, will be on hand to discuss its initial data, Public Works Manager Eric Deike said recently.

Deike has said 318 people responded to an online survey in January as the first step toward developing a master plan for downtown parking that would address future needs.

While the initial findings would not likely produce any “big surprises,” interested community members are welcome to attend and ask questions of city and consulting officials, Deike said.
