4-Star Gymnastics Team competes at invitational

The 4-Star Gymnastics Team from 4-Star Athletic Complex, 30 Milestone Drive,  competed at the Penn State Nittany Invitational in State College, Pa., on Jan. 21 and 22.

Approximated 45 girls, ranging in age from 7 to 12, competed for the 4-Star team in six age levels.

Levels 4, 5 and 6 each placed as a team and had several event champions and all-around champions.

The team is coached by Sandi VanCleave, Tammie Jackson and Nica Sutch.

Winter Praise and Jam to be held at church Friday

Calvary Temple, 147 S. Conococheague St., will hold its Winter Praise and Jam Friday, beginning at 7 p.m.

The event will feature the worship groups KalledOut and The Living Stones.

Everyone is welcome. Admission and food are free.

World Day of Prayer celebration is planned

Williamsport Area Church Women United will hold its World Day of Prayer Celebration Friday, March 2, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 32 E. Potomac St. in Williamsport.


Theme is “Let Justice Prevail!”

Everyone is invited to attend this annual prayer service.

A fellowship time will follow the service.

PRAY fundraiser set at Bob Evans

The Bob Evans restaurants in the area will hold a fundraiser for PRAY, or Providing Relief for Autistic Youth Inc., Thursday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the following locations:

  • 190 Railway Lane, Hagerstown
  • 1721 Dual Highway, Hagerstown
  • 1131 Wayne Road, Chambersburg, Pa.

The restaurant will donate a portion of the proceeds to PRAY.

Conococheague LL bonanza is Saturday

Tickets are still available for the Conococheague Little League bonanza fundraiser, planned Saturday at Fairplay Fire Hall.

Tickets cost $40 per couple and include dinner. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., the meal is at 6 p.m., followed by entertainment by a DJ.

Proceeds will benefit the Conococheague Little League.
