Sharon Ann (Kershner) King, 55, of Hagerstown, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown.

Born Feb. 1, 1957, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of George R. Kershner of Hagerstown and the late Evelyn M. (Carter) Kershner.

Sharon was a 1975 graduate of South Hagerstown High School.

She was employed for 10 years as a manager/nursing assistant for  United Cerebral Palsy, Hagerstown, and then as a cashier for Sheetz, Hagerstown.

Sharon loved taking care of people, and was loved and will be greatly missed by everyone.

In addition to her father, she also is survived by her loving husband, David King; one brother, Steve Kershner and wife, Camille, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and one sister, Cynthia French and husband, Clyde, of Hagerstown.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a nephew, David Wayne Hafer.

Graveside services will be conducted Friday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m. at Broadfording Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Mark C. Mooney officiating. Interment will follow.


Friends will be received Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
