Leonard Horace Worthington Sr., 91, of Broadfording Road, Hagerstown, Md., died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, at his home.
Born Nov. 8, 1920, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late William B. and Edna M. Long Worthington.
His wife, Helen Worthington, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2012.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was employed with Fairchild Industries, retiring after 44 years.
He loved to hunt and also loved baseball, football and gardening. He enjoyed his loving grandchildren and watching them play sports.
He was a member of the Alsatia Club, Morris Frock American Legion Post 42, and Waynesboro Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 695.
He is survived by a daughter, Sharon W. Drawbaugh and husband, John, of Charlotte, N.C.; two sons, Leonard H. Worthington Jr. and wife, Sue, of Yorktown, Va., and Gregory J. Worthington and wife, Penny, of Hagerstown; a brother, Walter T. Worthington of Hagerstown; grandchildren, Brian B. Worthington and wife, Karen, David B. Worthington and wife, Kelly, Kelly D. Lew and husband, Charley, Laura A. Worthington, Kent S. Worthington and Chase Worthington; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
