Helen Louise Worthington, 89, of Broadfording Road, Hagerstown, Md., died Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at her home.
Born Aug. 26, 1922, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Harry M. and Fannie Socks Ditmer.
Her husband, of 69 years, Leonard Worthington Sr., preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 2012.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
She loved to travel and work in her flower garden, but her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon W. Drawbaugh and husband, John, of Charlotte, N.C.; two sons, Leonard H. Worthington Jr. and wife, Sue, of Yorktown, Va., and Gregory J. Worthington and wife, Penny, of Hagerstown; a sister, Betty Crist of Hagerstown; six grandchildren, Brian B. Worthington and wife, Karen, David B. Worthington and wife, Kelly, Kelly D. Lew and husband, Charley, Laura A. Worthington, Kent S. Worthington and Chase T. Worthington; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
