Clear Spring Road near Conococheague Creek bridge to be closed Saturday

February 17, 2012

WILLIAMSPORT — Clear Spring Road, also known as Md. 68, is scheduled to close Saturday near the bridge at Conococheague Creek north of Williamsport, according to Kellie Boulware, spokeswoman for the Maryland State Highway Administration.

The SHA plans can remove tree branches and other debris under the bridge, according to Boulware. The road is being closed to provide room for a crane on the bridge, she said.

A detour plan has been set up for motorists in each direction. Motorists north of the bridge can turn left on Pinesburg Road, right onto Kemps Mill Road, right onto Greencastle Pike (Md. 63) and right onto Potomac Street (U.S. 11) to get back to Md. 68, which is known as Conococheague Street in that location.

Motorists south of the bridge on Md. 68 can turn right onto Potomac Street (U.S. 11), left onto Md. 63, which is called North Artizan Street in that location, left onto Kemps Mill Road, and left onto Pinesburg Road to get back to Md. 68.

Closure is expected to remain in effect until Sasturday evening, Boulware said.
