Three students recently were added to the Grace Academy Chapter of the National Honor Society.

The students are seniors Josh Buwalda and Joss Steward, and junior Camryn Steward.

Requirements to apply for the honor society include maintaining a 3.5 grade-point average, and showing outstanding participation in the areas of character, service and leadership.

The application process is lengthy and must include recognized service, personal recommendations and faculty council approval.

The students join the chapter of existing student members Daniel Frederickson, Peter Hykes and Camille Sprecher, who each talked about the importance of the honor society attributes.

Teacher Elizabeth Herman, an honor society member herself, spoke about the honor and expectations of being a member.

Students were pinned at a candle-lighting ceremony by their parents.
