Clear Spring student at Bridgewater College named to Who's Who

BRIDGEWATER, Va. — Andrew Routzahn of Clear Spring is among 23 Bridgewater College seniors who have been selected for inclusion in the 2012 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”

The students are cited for academic achievement, community service and leadership activities. The 2012 edition of “Who’s Who” lists students from more than 2,000 colleges and universities throughout the United States and several foreign countries.

The directory of outstanding students has been published since 1934.

Routzahn, a 2008 graduate of Clear Spring High School, is the son of Tom and Lori Routzahn of Clear Spring.

At Bridgewater, he is a history and political science major with a minor in philosophy and religion.

Routzahn is a member of the Philomathes Society, Bridgewater’s scholastic honor society, and serves as vice president of the campus chapter of Alpha Chi, a national scholastic honor society. He is a member of Phi Alpha Theta, a national history honor society and presented his honors project, “Mommy, I Learned All about the Confederacy Today: Confederate Primers and Grammar Textbooks,” at the Virginia Phi Alpha Theta conference in March 2011.

Routzahn is a member of the Flory Fellowship of Scholars, the college’s honors program. He is a member of the Pre-Law Society and the College Republicans.

He is a student peer minister and serves on the student ministry board. Routzahn is a member of Believers Strongly United and is vice president of the Praise Band. He is a member of Campus Crusade for Christ.

Routzahn is a member of the Ultimate Frisbee club team and participates in the intramural program.
