Town museum meeting set

There will be a Williamsport Town Museum meeting Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Homewood, Floor 2 Canterbury, with Town Historian Maurice Snyder.

Anyone interested in learning more about Williamsport and sharing their stories and memories is invited to attend.

Homemade Easter eggs available from auxiliary

Starting Sunday and running through March 26, homemade Easter eggs from the Ladies Auxiliary of Calvary Temple will be on sale.

The selection includes chocolate-covered peanut butter eggs, white-chocolate-covered peanut butter eggs, chocolate-covered coconut eggs, white-chocolate-covered coconut eggs and peanut-butter-covered peanut butter eggs.

Longaberger and cash bingo event planned

Past Pocahontas League will hold a Longaberger and cash bingo event Sunday, Feb. 19, at the Improved Order of Red Men Tribe 84, 16129 Lappans Road.

Doors open at 11 a.m., lunch will be served at noon and bingo starts at 1 p.m.

Lunch includes a two-piece chicken dinner and drinks. 

Tickets cost $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Each ticket includes six cards. Baskets are filled. No alcohol permitted. No one younger than 18 will be admitted. The event is open to the public.

Dollar General store opens in Williamsport

Dollar General has opened a store at 415 S. Conococheague St.

The store hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., every day.

Desert Rose Café plans fundraiser

The Desert Rose Café, 42 N. Conococheague St., is celebrating “28 Days of Caring.”

Owner Rose Harris has proclaimed February as its inaugural “Give Back to the Community” month. The restaurant will donate 10 percent of all receipts for the month to nonprofit groups.

The restaurant is open seven days a week, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. For more information, call 301-223-6400.

Conococheague Little League plans bonanza

Tickets are available for the Conococheague Little League bonanza, planned for Sunday, Feb. 25, at Fairplay Fire Hall.

Tickets cost $40 per couple and include dinner. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., and the meal will be served at 6 p.m., followed by DJ and dance. “Bonanza milk” will be free.

First prize is $1,250. The event also will feature drawings and raffles.

Proceeds will benefit Conococheague Little League.
