Safe, TV reported stolen

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — A safe, television, food, a coffee pot and prescription medication were stolen from an apartment at 236 W. Main St., Waynesboro police said in a news release Tuesday.

Police said the resident left at 5 p.m. Monday and returned at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday when he discovered the items were taken.

Someone entered the apartment through its front door, police said.

Vehicle hit garage door, fled scene

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — A vehicle hit the garage door of NAPA Auto Parts, 614 S. Potomac St., and the driver fled the scene, Waynesboro police said in a news release.

An officer discovered the damage at 2:34 a.m. Saturday.

Police said a garage door and wall appeared to have been struck by a larger truck, such as a box truck or tractor-trailer.

“The wall was pushed in excess of 12 inches, creating cracks in the wall approximately 15 feet high,” police said in the news release.
