February 06, 2012

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A Martinsburg woman is accused of stealing $2,400 in casino winnings from a man while she danced for him privately at a strip club Dec. 28, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

Amanda Dawn Epling, 18, of 44 Excursion Drive, was arraigned Saturday by Magistrate Joan V. Bragg on one felony count of grand larceny, according to court records.

Video footage from Paradise City II that was reviewed by police shows the accused removing cash from the victim’s right pocket while she was dancing and putting it in the couch on which she was dancing, according to court documents.

The video footage also shows the accused removing the money from the couch and putting it into a bag she was carrying, according to court records.

The victim, a Washington, D.C., resident, told a Berkeley County sheriff’s deputy that he won $3,000 at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races that night before going to the club with a friend, according to court documents.

The man told police he paid for a 30-minute private dance and discovered afterward that the remainder of the cash he had after giving his friend $200 at the club was missing, according to court documents.

The club manager told police the dancer informed him that she didn’t feel well after dancing for the victim and asked to leave work for the remainder of the night, according to court documents.
