Narcotics stolen from Walgreens in Martinsburg

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Narcotics were stolen Sunday morning from the Walgreens near Edwin Miller Boulevard, according to a news release from the Martinsburg Police Department.

Police responded to the 101 Forbes Drive store at 1:09 a.m. Sunday for the robbery, during which no one was injured, police said.

A man went up to the pharmacy counter and presented a note demanding various narcotics, police said. The note also stated the man had a gun, though none was displayed during the incident, police said.

The pharmacist provided the man with an undisclosed amount of narcotics and the man left the store, police said.

The suspect was described as a light-skinned black man who was 5 feet 10 inches tall and approximately in his 30s, police said. The man was wearing a green hat, a black jacket and dark clothing, police said.

It’s believed the suspect was in the store approximately 30 minutes before the robbery, police said.
