Farm bureau scholarships available to area students

The Washington County Farm Bureau will offer several sponsorships and grants to young adults of farm bureau families for educational advancements. 

Up to $5,000 will be awarded to a Washington County student who expresses interest in agriculture.  

The deadline to apply is April 15.

Scholarships include:

  • The Don Schwartz Agricultural Scholarship ($2,000 post-secondary education) — One $2,000 scholarship awarded annually (50 percent given each of two semesters) for a major in animal sciences. Funds can be used for tuition and/or books and will be sent directly to the college or university.
  • Washington County Farm Bureau Scholarship ($1,000 post-secondary education) — Two $1,000 scholarships awarded annually (50 percent given each of two semesters). Funds can be used for tuition and/or books, and will be sent directly to the college, university or trade school.
  • Washington County Farm Bureau Grant — One $1,000 grant awarded annually to an individual who is pursuing a new enterprise or business venture relating to agriculture for which they are financially responsible.
