The Frederic H. Kass III, M.D., Endowed Scholarship Fund at Hospice of Washington County Inc. will award its first round of scholarships this spring.
The application process consists of completing the application, attaching the required information and submitting the completed application by April 1.
Scholarships will be awarded in May/June for the fall semester.
To be considered for the scholarships, students must be:
- A resident of Washington County
- Either an employee of Hospice of Washington County or a graduating high school senior accepted to an accredited college majoring in a healthcare field
- Student at an accredited college majoring in a health care field with a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

The Frederic H. Kass III, M.D., Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2010 to honor Dr. Kass during Hospice of Washington County’s 30th-anniversary celebration. Dozens of community members and businesses donated to the fund to honor Kass’ efforts as founder of Hospice of Washington County and his continued 30-plus-year tenure as its medical director.
