Joy El Ministries board members installed

Joy El Ministries of Greencastle, providers of the Released Time Bible Program, 4.12 Leadership Training Program and camping programs, recently installed its 2012 board of directors.

Ward Childerston of Hagerstown took on the role of board chairman this year. He is a retired general manager of WCRH radio, a Christian station affiliated with Cedar Ridge Ministries.

Returning again this year as vice chairwoman of the board is Penny Marks of Zullinger, Pa. Marks is retired from teaching Spanish in the Greencastle-Antrim School District. She is serving her second term as a board member.

Craig Witmer of St. Thomas, Pa., stepped into the role of board treasurer this year. He is a certified public accountant with Smith Elliott Kearns & Co. LLC in Chambersburg, Pa.

Serving as board secretary for another year is Jeff Hockenberry of Shippensburg, Pa. He owns Hockenberry Associates LLC, a business management consultant firm in Shippensburg.

Three new board members began their terms of service this year. Jim Stein of Waynesboro, Pa., is an attorney with Dick, Stein, Schemel, Wine and Frey LLC. Don MacAskill of Chambersburg is general manager of Whitetail Resort in Mercersburg, Pa. Douglas Shatzer of Greencastle is employed by Citicorp of Hagerstown.

Additional board members include William Dick of Waynesboro, Carolyn Allison of Chambersburg, Brian Harbaugh of Chambersburg, Janice Oliver of Greencastle and Rodney Teach of Waynesboro. Dick is a partner in the law firm of Dick, Stein, Schemel, Wine and Frey LLC. Allison is employed by J&B Bridals in downtown Chambersburg. Harbaugh is general manager for Precision Manufacturing & Engineering Co. Inc. Oliver is a homemaker and longtime Released Time volunteer. She also is a member of the Joy El Ministries’ capital campaign committee. Teach is chief financial officer at Cinetic Landis Corp. in Hagerstown.
