Senior Friendship Club meeting set for Tuesday
Maugansville Senior Friendship Club members invite the community to join them Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the Hibachi Buffet (formerly TOPS Restaurant) for a Dutch treat lunch at noon. 

After lunch, there will be a meeting and the speaker will be from the Washington County Commission on Aging. Members are asked to bring Valentine’s decorations and flea market items. Friends and visitors are welcome. If schools are closed and roads are icy, there will be no meeting.

Spaghetti dinner, auction planned at Broadfording
On Friday, Feb. 17, Broadfording Christian Academy, at 13535 Broadfording Church Road, will host a spaghetti dinner at 4 p.m. and a silent auction, which begins at 5 p.m.  There will also be a live auction at 7 p.m. and a homemade soup and bake sale. 

The spaghetti dinner tickets cost $8 for adults and $4 for those ages 5 and younger.


Auction items include: one week in an Ocean City, Md., condo; his and hers Trek Navigator 1.0 comfort bikes from Hub City Cycles; Tiffany & Co. bow earrings in sterling silver; Brighton Jewelry; Longaberger baskets; handmade furniture; an autographed copy of Tony Orlando’s “Yellow Roses” book and CD; a session with Meghan Shupe Photography; a necklace from R. Bruce Carson Jewelers; a six-month membership at the Studio 6 Health Club, including two sessions with a personal trainer; an assortment of gift certificates and gift baskets; handmade quilts; and other items.

Basket bingo to benefit W. Md. Hospital Center

The Western Maryland Hospital Center Auxiliary will host a basket bingo Sunday, March 25, at the Williamsport Fire Hall. 

Doors open at 11 a.m., lunch will be served at noon, and bingo begins at 1 p.m.

Tickets cost $30 for one and $50 for two. Lunch is included with the ticket purchase. 

There will be 25 regular games, four early bird games for cash and five special games.

There will be more than 50 door prizes and raffle items. The grand raffle is worth $3,000 and includes a Longaberger TV stand, six baskets, and a 32-inch flat screen TV and Blu-Ray DVD player donated by Spicher’s.
