Ronald Lee ‘Ron’ Bohn, 70, of  Pondsville Road, Hagerstown, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at his home.

Born June 25, 1941, in Frederick, Md., he was the son of the late Charles S. Bohn and Virginia L. Barber Harding.

He was employed with Baer Foods for 23 years and with Martin’s, retiring in 2010.

He was a member of National Wild Turkey Federation, North American Rod and Gun Club, Eagles, Inc. of Waynesboro, Pa., and the American Legion Morris Frock Post 42.

One of Ron’s greatest joys in life was spending time with his grandchildren.

He volunteered with the Wild Turkey Federation, teaching youth the skills of turkey hunting.

He was an avid hunter and guide who enjoyed all aspects of hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Penelope “Penny” Bohn; a daughter, Tracey Steiner and husband, Adam, of Fairfax, Va.; a son, Brian Bohn and wife, Susan, of Bel Air, Md.; four grandchildren, Cole, Jackson, Aidan and Leah; and mother-in-law, Helen Stottlemyer of Hagerstown.


Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Raymond H. Shriver will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
