Course offered to prepare for human-resources management certification

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The Society for Human Resource Management, or SHRM, is offering a Learning System Course to help people prepare for a nationally respected certification and Essentials of Human Resource Management for those wanting to build a solid foundation in human resources management skills.

The SHRM Learning System Course has helped more than 30,000 human resources professionals earn their  Professional in Human Resources or Senior Professional in Human Resources certification. It covers human resources practices and regulations, and how to improve effectiveness and productivity.

The course begins Saturday, Feb. 18, and will continue on Saturdays, March 3, 17 and 24, and April 14 and 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Blue Ridge Community and Technical College Tech Center, 5550 Martinsburg Ave. in Martinsburg. The class fee of $989 includes all materials. The  deadline for registration is Friday. Mandatory class orientation will be Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 6:30 p.m., where class materials will be distributed.

The SHRM Essentials of HR Management course provides an introductory overview of the human resource function. It will be Saturdays, March 24 and 31, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Blue Ridge Community and Technical College Tech Center. The class fee of $385 includes all materials.

The deadline to register is Tuesday, March 13.
