Herman L. “Hermie” Weaver Jr., 69, of Clear Spring, died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, from a work- related accident at Holcim Inc. in Hagerstown, Md.

Born Aug. 12, 1942, in Hagerstown, he is the son of Esther Iona Keifer Weaver of Clear Spring and the late Herman L. Weaver Sr., who passed in 1992.

He was employed with Holcim (U.S.) Inc. of Hagerstown, formerly Marquette Cement Co., for 48 years.

He was a 1960 graduate of Clear Spring High School.

Hermie attended Blairs Valley First Church of God, was a member of the Greencastle Sportsmen’s Association and the Izaak Walton League of America.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed time with his grandson.

He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his mother, Hermie is survived by his loving wife of nearly 41 years, Darlene L. Repp Weaver of Clear Spring; a son, Todd A. Weaver Sr. and companion, Danielle Crabb, of Clear Spring; a brother, Gary D. Weaver of Middletown, Md.; and precious grandson, Todd A. Weaver Jr. “T.J.” of Clear Spring.

There will be no viewing. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Herman for the benefit of Todd Jr., a scholarship fund has been established for future education. Donations may be sent to Todd A. Weaver Sr., c/o Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home Inc., P.O. Box 310, National Pike, Clear Spring, MD 21722.
