Hearty Pet raffle fundraiser collects food, supplies for shelter

January 29, 2012

HAGERSTOWN — Hearty Pet Retail recently donated two truckloads of food, toys, treats and other supplies to the Humane Society of Washington County. The donation was the result of a month-and-a-half-long fundraiser.

Store Manager Tory Burch organized a raffle to promote the shelter’s Home for the Holiday campaign.

“We are so happy the store achieved its goal of selling 500 raffle tickets,” Burch said.  “That enabled us to donate several thousand dollars worth of supplies to the HSWC.”  The donation was so large it, required two vehicles to take the food and supplies to the shelter.

“We are so fortunate to have such great partners in the community” said Paul Miller, the animal shelter’s executive director. “I want to thank store manager Tory Burch for organizing the fundraiser and store owner Tracy Blair for this very generous donation.”

“We would like to thank everyone who participated by donating and buying raffle tickets,” Blair said.

“We wanted to get involved with the HSWC this year and know that the animals will appreciate our contribution.”

Hearty Pet Retail is at Suite 727 at Premium Outlets in Hagerstown.
