Boonsboro High School Class of '61 gathers for 50th reunion

BOONSBORO — Members of the Boonsboro High School Class of 1961 recently celebrated their 50th reunion with two evenings of food, fellowship and fun.

A picnic, sponsored by the planning committee, was held at the Eugene Smith Building in Shafer Memorial Park.

A celebration dinner with a program of memories was held at Clopper-Michael American Legion Post 10.

The reunion was attended by 35 class members, plus guests.

Nineteen deceased members were remembered in a candlelight presentation by Douglas Miller.

Classmates who attended the festivities came from Indiana, Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee and Maryland.

Future plans include a 70th birthday celebration in 2013, and a 55th reunion in 2016.

The planning committee included Carol Davis Freese, Eugene Himes, Groveine McGraw Robinson, Doreen McGolerick Semler, Miller, Patricia Moser Robinson, Lorrena Moser Wyand, Shirley Robinson and Judith Rohrer Williamson, chairperson.
