Eastbound I-70 at South Mountain reopens after crash

January 29, 2012

All three lanes of eastbound Interstate 70, midway up South Mountain, are open after two lanes were closed for about an hour Sunday afternoon due to a property damage accident, emergency officials said.

The two left lanes near mile-marker 38 were closed shortly after an accident at around 2:50 p.m., emergency officials said.

That section, which has three lanes and is between the Md. 66 and Myersville, Md., exits, reopened shortly before 4 p.m., Maryland State Police said.

No injuries were reported from the accident, according to Washington County Emergency Services.
